Black H Sofa

This bespoke sofa was designed for Black H, a contemporary holiday house on the Isle of Skye, commissioned by Jason and Sarah Bold of Harlosh.co. The house was developed in collaboration with local architects Dualchas, with the interior nearing completion at the time of the initial site visit.

A split level within the main open-plan living space required a custom seating solution to respond accurately to the scale and layout of the room. The resulting sofa was designed to sit comfortably within the architecture while supporting everyday use in a shared living environment.

The piece is constructed from European oak and upholstered in Swedish Svensson fabric. Due to its overall length of four metres, the sofa was made in two sections and assembled in situ. An integrated console unit houses media equipment and functions as a low table, allowing the piece to perform multiple roles within the space. Upholstery was carried out by Peter Holmes of Be Seated.
