Archerfield Dressing Room Furniture

This set was designed and made for a recently completed bespoke property in East Lothian. The dressing room pieces form part of a wider body of furniture developed for the home, responding to the scale, material palette, and character of the interior.

A matching perch seat completes the set, formed from hand-cut veneers laminated into plywood to create the curved profile and upholstered in leather from the same hide.

A bench was later commissioned to complete the room, developed to sit comfortably alongside the existing pieces while maintaining its own identity within the set.

The pieces are made from hand-selected German rift-cut oak, fumed with ammonia to achieve a deep, dark tone. The dressing table incorporates a discreet drawer in natural oak, detailed with drop-pinned dovetails and lined with Swedish vegetable-tanned leather. The mirror and jewellery box are freestanding, allowing their position to be adjusted or removed as required.
